Join us for this “Go Slow” networking morning, where meaningful connections unfold at a leisurely pace, allowing deeper discussions and stronger connections than the traditional speed networking model. The event offers an inspiring combination of networking, and a behind-the-scenes tour led by Raystede’s Animal Welfare team.

Hosted by Amanda Young, our enthusiastic Network Master of Ceremonies. Amanda will begin with a warm welcome and a brief update on the latest Sussex Chamber member news and upcoming events.

How it works:

The room is arranged with an inner circle of delegates who remain seated, while the larger outer circle rotates to meet each person one-to-one. You’ll have 4 minutes each to introduce yourselves, making a total of 8 minutes per pair. This slower pace gives you time to genuinely engage and start building stronger relationships, no rushing, no pressure.

The outer circle moves clockwise to meet the next delegate, ensuring you get to speak with everyone in the room. It’s networking reimagined to be inclusive and approachable, perfect for those who find traditional speed networking intimidating.

Why you’ll love it:
  • Stress-free introductions: Walk in not knowing anyone, walk away having connected with everyone.

  • Quality conversations: The extended time lets you really get to know fellow professionals.

  • Inclusive format: No hard selling or forced pitches, just authentic, meaningful networking.

  • Proven success: Our members consistently give great feedback and report tangible business benefits.

Getting There

Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare is located near Ringmer, East Sussex.

  • By Train: The nearest station is Lewes, with regular services from Brighton, Eastbourne, and London. From Lewes, it’s a short taxi ride (approx. 10 minutes) to Raystede.
  • By Car: Free parking is available on-site.

Raystede’s work is both impressive and inspiring. They care for a wide range of animals, from dogs and cats to exotic birds, tortoises, and even elderly goats and alpacas who call Raystede their permanent home. Their dedication to rehoming and caring for animals in need is only possible through the generosity of donors and community support, a cause that aligns with the spirit of collaboration and goodwill at the heart of Sussex businesses.
