Embark on an ‘African Expedition': Uniting Adventure, Culture, Discovery, and Personal Development
Completing this challenge in Namibia and Botswana not only raises funds for the beneficiaries of the The Wolo Foundation, but offers all of us taking part an holistic mental health boost through exposure to nature, diverse cultures, adventure, mindfulness, sunlight, social connections, and opportunities for self-reflection, fostering relaxation, creativity, and a sense of well-being.
Breaking away from daily routines and immersing ourselves in different environments provides a mental reset. The unique experiences of this African adventure will allow us to detach from stressors, and rejuvenate our minds.
Wolo Foundation in collaboration with Africa Wild Trails will deliver this international charity adventure 4x4 adventure challenge. All funds raised will help many families affected by cancer in Sussex.
Covering approximately 3,000 kms, our destinations are set but the routes there are not, as we want to spend time exploring the areas we are in, occasionally going for walks and hikes, and immersing ourselves in the locations, landscapes and cultures, with the option of a hot-air balloon ride above the desert.
This African adventure challenge is about improving our mental health, and raising much needed funds for The Wolo Foundation. The journey takes us on a route through the rich and diverse countries of Namibia and Botswana. Breathtakingly wonderful landscapes, stunning wildlife areas, and welcoming communities await us! Fully equipped 4x4 vehicles will be provided and each vehicle will have a team of 3 or 4 people, and 2 of these must be drivers.

I am raising money for Holding Space, a charity that is that is close to my heart. As a parent of a child with mental health and SEN needs, I know first hand just how tough and lonely it can feel at times. Holding Space provides a lifeline for so many other parents going through similar struggles. I now work with Holding Space as a Parent Carer Peer Support Worker using my lived experience to help other parents. Every penny raised goes towards making sure no parent has to face their journey alone.

There will be a variety of plants for sale, many of which have been generously donated and grown by Sheila together with contributions from friends, neighbours, and fellow garden lovers. A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed plants – your kindness helps make this event so special.
Of course, no garden party would be complete without delicious cream teas and homemade cakes, so come along and enjoy a treat (or two!) while browsing the plant selection.
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sheila for her incredible efforts year after year, and to everyone who has donated, supported, or bought from the plant sales. Every pound raised goes towards supporting people with cancer across Sussex.
🌱 We hope to see you there!
