Overview
Following on from our successful golf days across Sussex, we will be holding a golf day this year in West Sussex at Mannings Heath Golf Club.
This year we are holding the event on Friday 13th September 2019. The event comprises of 18 holes of golf on the Waterfall Course, a championship course influenced by architect Harry Colt, followed by a 2 course evening meal or BBQ.
Chestnut Tree House
Chestnut Tree House is the children's hospice in Sussex and South East Hampshire, caring for children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting and life- threatening illnesses from all over the county.
Completed in 2003, the hospice provides a 'home from home' environment with 10 children's bedrooms plus 8 family rooms, a wet and dry play area, computer and music rooms, a multi- sensory room and hydrotherapy pool. The house is set in beautiful gardens within an area of outstanding natural beauty.
We are currently caring for over 300 children across Sussex and South East Hampshire, but there are potentially 1000 families with life-limited children in Sussex and South East Hampshire. Chestnut Tree House offers support for the whole family including psychological support, care in bereavement therapy, end of life and respite care and sibling support.
It cost over £3.9 million a year to provide all the services at Chestnut Tree House, however, we receive less than 6% funding from the government. Families are never charged for their care at Chestnut Tree House and we depend on the generosity of the public, local organisations, our network of Friends Groups and fundraising events and activities to help raise the funds in order to provide the high standard of care and comfort to children and families across Sussex at the house or in the family home.

The need for sponsorship
Chestnut Tree House relies heavily upon fundraising campaigns such as this to meet the incredible costs of running the hospice services – over £3.9 million each year. Chestnut’s Corporate Golf Day will allow us to raise awareness of Chestnut Tree House across Sussex and South East Hampshire through businesses to help us raise vital funds to run our services.
Naturally, this event will incur expenditure in its creation, promotion and administration. We hope to attract corporate sponsorship for this campaign to cover costs.
