Brighton i360: a new departure for Brighton’s iconic tourist attraction
Tuesday 1st November marks the launch of a new brand identity for Brighton’s viewing tower from British Airways i360 to ‘Brighton i360’, further aligning the attraction to the city of Brighton and Hove.
The rebrand of the attraction includes large scale external signage, new staff uniforms and a new lighting scheme for the tower and pod.
Ian Hart, Chief Operating Officer, says: “As one of the city’s major tourist attractions we are thrilled to rebrand to our new name of Brighton i360. It enables us to further embrace all that is great about our wonderful location and community here in Brighton and injects a sense of fun. Part of embracing our local community is working with local businesses and suppliers, so it has been especially satisfying to work with two Brighton based businesses to develop our new brand identity. Local brand agency, Designate, has designed our new logo, brand guidelines and advertising campaign. Fashion designer, Gresham Blake, has designed our fabulous new uniform.”
Julia Barfield, the Architect and Chair of Brighton i360, says: “The i360 was conceived to give a new perspective and appreciation of the city and its surroundings. I am absolutely delighted that with our change of name we are, in a sense, becoming even more Brighton.”
Jason Triandafyllou from Designate says: “Our key priority for the new brand identity was to make sure it was more aligned to the City of Brighton and its overall character. We wanted to make sure it was vibrant, playful, fun and unique. An iconic brand for an iconic city, forward facing and contemporary, with positive values and real personality that will be expressed through all communications.”
Gresham Blake says: “We are really pleased to be supplying uniforms for one of Brighton’s newest iconic destinations. It’s always great to collaborate with local businesses and we were excited to develop a bespoke print for Brighton i360 that was fun, innovative and very Brighton - we can’t wait to see the new designs being worn!”
As part of the celebration, Resident Members of Brighton i360, will be invited to a special hosted event on board the pod, on the launch day, 1st November. Details will be communicated to Resident Members via the members newsletter.
Brighton i360 is a unique attraction featuring a giant glass viewing pod, home to the South Coast’s highest sky bar. Passengers glide smoothly to 450 feet, offering panoramic sweeping views of Brighton, the Sussex coastline and sea.
