Elizabeth Ockford Ltd has donated towards planting 50 trees across the world.
After many years of working for some of the biggest names in the wallpaper design and print industry, Elizabeth Ockford has formed a high-end interiors brand under her own name, with a commitment to being environmentally conscious.
With nature proving to be a continuous source of inspiration and creativity for Elizabeth, she has partnered with inspiring global reforestation initiative, One Tree Planted. As part of their one for one model, Elizabeth has pledged to contribute to a tree being planted for every roll sold from her debut collection, The Islands.
Elizabeth and her company, Elizabeth Ockford Ltd, have been celebrating this month after selling 50 rolls from The Islands collection, and have therefore donated towards planting 50 trees across the world to help aid in reforestation!
The Islands, Elizabeth’s debut collection, was launched in March 2020. The collection draws inspiration from the fantasy of escaping to beautiful faraway destinations, with contemporary designs featuring whales, lobsters, seashells, coral, and tropical birds as well as intricate Eastern scenes. To complement these designs, there are a number of sophisticated tonal wallcoverings with subtle raffia textures and geometric motifs reminiscent of woven silks.
Elizabeth has a serious outlook when it comes to reducing the carbon footprint within her company. Alongside the day-to-day actions of switching off lights, computers and recycling rubbish, her company also uses paper from only FSC-certified sources, eco-friendly water-based inks for printing and, most importantly, they have worked extensively to create packaging - for the debut collection - which is biodegradable and recyclable.
Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing, and create jobs for social impact. By being part of the One Tree Planted initiative, Elizabeth aims to not only continue with her commitment to sustainability, but also inspire other businesses to do the same.
