Sussex Police StreetSafe
StreetSafe is a pilot service for anyone to anonymously tell us about public places where they have felt or feel unsafe, because of environmental issues, such as street lighting, abandoned buildings or vandalism and/or because of some behaviours, for example being followed or verbally abused.
StreetSafe is anonymous. People using the tool have the option to answer questions about crime reporting, their sex, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, illnesses or disability.
The StreetSafe tool has been developed by the Home Office and the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) and is piloted for three months. This is part of the government’s agenda to tackle violence against women and girls but is for everyone to use.
The tool can be found on the Sussex Police website here
Streetsafe is not an alternative for our communities to report crime through, messaging on the webpage makes this clear and signposts people to our usual reporting channels.
