Selling Security Solutions Successfully for 30 Years
Having survived difficult times including previous recessions, Insight Security, was looking forward to a 2020 celebration of 30 years successful trading.
Little did we know, the challenges that 2020 would throw our way, but thanks to many years of focussed hard work, the dedicated efforts of our great team, effective management and a tad of good luck, we have managed to make this our best ever year.
Many things have contributed to our success over the years, but a strong team, fully committed to our “Customer First” Ethos is number one. Every team member is more than happy to go that extra mile to ensure that the customer gets the security solution that’s right for them, which is why we enjoy a 100 percent “5 Star” Google rating, a position we have enjoyed for over 5 years.
Supplying quality products and sound impartial advice is also key to our success, so we only supply products which meet our strict selection criteria and which we are confident will do what is claimed.
In fact, we work hard to deliver solutions to our customers rather than just products, which may mean developing bespoke packages or even new products if we identify a need.
Our non-aggressive, safe and effective, Roller Barrier anti-climb system, which we manufacture in the UK and now sell worldwide is one example of an in-house developed product.
With major installations in the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as widespread use throughout the UK, Roller Barrier is used extensively at schools, prisons and correctional facilities, psychiatric and secure medical sites, businesses of all sizes, parks and government buildings and domestic premises, among others.
As our business grew, it quickly became apparent, that our sales and support team, whilst great at advising and working with our customers, did not necessarily have the time or skills needed to effectively manage many of the specialist admin and housekeeping tasks that every business needs. We decided therefore to outsource some functions to external specialists to ensure the smooth operation of the business.
While just a few years ago, tasks such as; developing and managing our websites and SEO activity, Payroll, Accounting and so on, were done in-house, it became obvious that increasingly, many of these activities required full time attention and constantly evolving specialist knowledge.
Although outsourcing comes at a cost, our decision to use external experts as required, has more than justified itself and has proven much more practical and cost effective than trying to recruit and manage specialists to work in-house, keep them up to speed with training and so on. Keeping staff numbers at optimum levels has also enabled us to significantly grow our business from our well-established modern office and warehouse premises in Lewes.
No business can afford to be complacent, which is why we have an active and challenging future development programme. While this involves exploring new products and markets among other things, we recognise the importance of and will continue to maintain our core values.
