Fire can develop quickly and have a devastating impact on people, property and business operations. This dynamic and highly practical course helps delegates understand the real-world risks of workplace fires and the important role that effective fire prevention, preparation and emergency response play in keeping everyone safe.
Throughout the session, delegates will explore common causes of workplace fires, how fire and smoke can spread, and the proactive steps that can be taken to reduce potential hazards. They will also learn how to respond calmly and effectively if a fire occurs, including raising the alarm, supporting a safe evacuation and following the correct workplace emergency procedures.
The course provides a clear understanding of the responsibilities of a designated Fire Warden or Fire Marshal. Delegates will learn how to carry out routine fire-safety checks, identify and report potential risks, assist with emergency evacuations and help maintain a strong fire-safety culture across their organisation.
A standout feature of the course is the immersive Virtual Reality practical experience. This realistic and interactive activity allows participants to apply their learning, practise responding to different fire scenarios and test their decision-making skills in a safe and controlled environment. It is challenging, memorable and surprisingly enjoyable, helping delegates retain what they have learned long after the course has finished.
This course is ideal for newly appointed or existing Fire Wardens and Fire Marshals, as well as supervisors, managers and employees who have responsibility for fire safety or emergency procedures within their workplace.
By the end of the course, delegates will have greater confidence in their role and a practical understanding of how to help prevent fires, support a safe evacuation and respond effectively during a workplace emergency.
Please note: A minimum of 6 delegates are required to run this course. If this is not met then this course may be rescheduled.
