The Benefits of Networking
At the August Seaford Chamber breakfast meeting, Anne Clark from MCL Transport announced that her apprentice had left after 5 years to join a local firm of Accountants and that she was looking for a replacement.
Chamber member Will Flowers (VR Flowers & Son) phoned her afterwards to say that his brother had just left school and wanted to be an accountant. After selecting 3 college candidates for interview in addition to this direct application, the young man was found to be head and shoulders above the rest and started at the beginning of September as an Apprentice studying Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
His name is Edward Flowers and Anne is grateful to the opportunity given by the Chamber and to Will Flowers for following it through. We wish Edward every success.
So the moral of the story is..... you can get much more than a full English at Chamber breakfast meetings!
