Supporting our local health workers

SafeSite Facilities in Littlehampton has lit up its premises blue to show support for the NHS service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SafeSite Facilities in Littlehampton has lit up its premises blue to show support for the NHS service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The #lightitblue campaign began in March 2020, during the first national lockdown, as offices and homes across the country united out of respect and admiration for the NHS.

The campaign originated in the events and entertainment industry and has already received support from major venues such as the O2, Royal Albert Hall and Royal Opera House, which have all been forced to close during the pandemic.

Michael Knibbs, Managing Director, SafeSite Facilities said: “Many of our customers are in the events industry and we’ve seen first-hand how their work has suffered over the past year, with few to no public gatherings being able to take place during the pandemic.

“One thing we can all do, apart from staying at home and keeping each other safe, is to thank all of the healthcare professionals who are risking their own health, and sacrificing time with their families to help tackle the virus so we can try to get back to normal life as soon as possible.

“#lightitblue is something we can all get behind, from our homes and workplaces, in a shared show of solidarity for the NHS.”
