Did you know that only 13% of the entire construction industry are women?


A study from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has shown that approximately a third of women have said that their fear of sexism has held them back.


Industrial Construction (Sussex) Ltd ICS believe strongly in our equality supporting Women in Construction week during March 2021 and are proud to have five amazing women in our team. Michele Decaix – Office Manager/Executive PA , Lorraine Brown – Commercial Manager, Chantalle Sullivan – PA to Operations Manager, Sophie Penfold –Receptionist/Administrator and Faith Maynard-Downey – Estimating/Marketing Administrator.




Michele joined ICS as Receptionist/ Administrator almost 11 years ago; she then went onto use her exceptional skills as Accounts Coordinator. She is now our Office Manager / Executive PA, heading up our administration team, Michele ensures our office runs efficiently at all times, and is flexible with day-to-day tasks and spontaneous demands from various departments, Michele juggles many roles within her position including Mental Health First Aider, HR, Accounts and Administration, along with driving forward and implementing our ISO 9001-2015 Accreditation and maintaining numerous Industry Accreditations on behalf of the company.


Lorraine heads up the Quantity Surveying Team. She is currently completing her ILM Level 5 in Leadership and Management. Her role is to oversee, manage and report on the finances of the projects as they progress. This includes maintaining commercial information, negotiating contracts and final account agreements, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. She provides commercial support and mentoring to the contracts and estimating teams.


Chantalle started at ICS in 2011 as Receptionist/Administrator, she then went onto develop her skills as Contracts Assistant working closely with the contracts team and now is PA to the Operations Manager, Chantalle has many roles ranging from: assisting the Operations Manager and Contracts Teams with purchasing, logistics, managing and coordinating plant hire across all sites, training coordination, accounting tasks and heads up our internal marketing team.


Sophie has a strong administration and customer service background, enabling her to deal with the ‘front of house' and be the first point contact for visitors and callers efficiently and professionally. Her role ranges from dealing with invoices and maintaining the office supplies to managing the company fleet vehicles, collating the Operations and Maintenance Manuals and assisting with the Marketing. Sophie also offers administrative support to other departments and the Director.  


Faith joined the company in June 2020 as Sales and Marketing Co-Ordinator on a part time basis working with our in-house marketing team. We were delighted when Faith officially joined the team in September 2020 as our full time Estimating and Marketing Administrator working as part of our busy Estimating team and becoming a key member of our internal marketing team. Her duties include booking in enquiries, keeping databases up to date, working closely with our estimating manager to develop her skills, as well as creating content for our social media and more.
