This year saw the second BHBiz Awards, which took place at Brighton Amex Community Stadium last Friday 10 May. This biennial event, debuted in 2017 with much fanfare. The BHBiz Awards is an award ceremony with a difference; it isn’t just about profits and order books – but the people behind them. Across 11 categories (4 new ones for 2019), judges recognises the achievements of employees at all levels for their contribution to the workplace and their community.
Managing Director, Angela Gill, is a member of the Burgess Hill Business Parks Steering Group and has spoken at a variety of business events on the important role of women in business, including at Burgess Hill Means Business last year when she shared a platform with Rosemary French of the Gatwick Diamond Initiative. As an advocate of women in industry, Bio-Productions makes a direct contribution to the Gatwick Diamond economy via a £4 million turnover in Mid Sussex and by employing 37 local staff – who the management team regards as an extended family. She said, “We are all so thrilled to be recognised with these awards. The credit must go to our entire team here and we are so proud of Chris Freeman for winning his individual award. And, so honoured to be finalists amongst such great strong and thriving companies, which makes winning Best Business all the more special! Together we have made the last five years the best in the company’s history. We believe in putting the customers first – but alongside that enjoy having fun, contributing to the community and being ambassadors for Sussex business.”
