The rise of CAT A+

Traditionally, the typical office fit-out has fallen into two categories: Category A and Category B, however a new type of fit out has emerged. The CAT A+ fit out holds benefits for both landlords and tenants. It helps landlords avoid sometimes long periods of time where spaces sit unoccupied and diminishes the cost and time of converting a space back to a CAT A when a tenant leaves the premises, ready for reletting. For tenants, CAT A+ results in a reduced capital outlay and the option for exclusivity and privacy of their own premises, compared to perhaps a general coworking space.

In late 2019, Warnes Projects were asked to deliver a CAT A+ fit out at 55 Bartholomew Close, London. Sixteen simple and neat workstations shape the overall plan, with transition spaces and niches used to create interesting spaces encouraging interaction between office users and promote collaborative working. An enclosed space was created for a more private meeting room created with Interfinish double glazed black banded partitions. All furniture was selected to compliment the contemporary industrial style of the building. Check out our recent video showcasing the finished project!
