Raystede Celebrate Founder Miss Raymonde-Hawkins Birthday!

Today, Tuesday 7 April, is a special day. We celebrate the birthday of our founder, Miss Raymonde-Hawkins, who established Raystede in 1952. Today, 74 years later, we still embrace her mission to rescue and rehome animals in need and help people learn how to treat animals with care and respect.

Her work took her all over the country, as well as overseas to Ireland and Venice, and she opened Peaceways, the UK’s first pet crematorium.

Her legacy is a much-loved charity that rescues, rehabilitates, rehomes and cares for around 2,000 animals every year. Join us in honouring Miss Raymonde-Hawkins and the incredible difference one person’s kindness can make. 💕
