Rap Delivers New Design Concept for Brighton GP Surgery

Interior fit out company Rap Interiors recently completed the design and refurbishment of a healthcare facility in Brighton. The client, Care UK, is delivering a new model of care for general practices and commissioned Rap Interiors to create the first ever design concept for its flagship ‘Practice Plus’ surgery.

The project entailed utilising a vacant and dilapidated consultation space within a well-known high street store. Within this space, Rap’s Brighton Interior Designers we required to implement a reception/entrance, waiting area, washroom, lobby, consultation room and three GP practices.

An important part of the remit was to create a ‘health spa’ environment for patients. In order to fulfil this remit, Rap’s designers introduced a number of features designed to enhance the patient experience. These included relaxing Brighton themed wall vinyls in the surgeries, fast check in screens and a comfortable waiting area.

Other key features of the interior design included non-absorbent wipeable furniture in case of sickness and blood loss, Practice Plus branding, sound absorbing lobby area decorations, and an entrance door with bespoke glass manifestation. All of these elements were designed and implemented within a four week timeframe.

Through working with Rap Interiors, Care UK now has a state of the art flagship surgery which is now open to the Brighton community. The expertise displayed by our designers was key in delivering the health spa remit, ensuring the surgery adheres to health and safety regulations and bringing excellent usability to patients
