Prepworld Case Study

PrepWorld is an innovative and fast growing fruit company based in Kent. Established in 2012, PrepWorld specialises in prepared fruit supplies, including soft fruit, tropical and exotic fruit, stone fruit, top fruit and citrus.

Prep World’s remit was for Rap Interiors to transform their existing space into an office for 20 employees. This included the creation of an open workspace, a breakout area and meeting room. All work was carried out within a 5-6 week timeline.

The first phase of the office fit out involved removing many of the building’s existing elements. This was followed by installation of wall cladding, a suspended ceiling, eco-friendly LED lights, air conditioning and new electrics. The space was then decorated throughout.

For the open plan workspace, Rap suggested a minimalist aesthetic. This included shared desks with privacy screens and accompanying mesh back chairs; an orange, white and grey a colour scheme; and decorative images of fruit to reflect the company identity.

Rap then added new features to the breakout area, which also had to be extended to make more inviting for staff. These features included a breakfast bar with stools; a storage unit with an integrated fridge and microwave, a wipeable laminated splashback; vinyl flooring; and a modern poseur table.

Finally, Rap created a glass fronted boardroom by installing new partitions to make it more soundproof. Rap then introduced a meeting desk, comfortable chairs and storage solutions; implemented power and data to enable the use of a TV screen; and printed manifestation on the glass for safety purposes.

Following the works by Rap Interiors, Prep World now has a bright and functional open plan office workplace. With a new working area, boardroom and breakout area, both employee engagement and productivity will increase, helping the company to move forward in the fruit supply industry.
