CoirProducts.co.uk provides coir-based products for the horticulture and erosion control sectors. A waste product of the coconut industry, coir-based products are completely natural and biodegradable.

We adopt sustainable approaches in our work and share best practices on the environmental benefits of coir. Our actions include the following:

-       Over time, we have removed unnecessary plastic packaging from our products that sometimes helps to hold the dusty coir together. Our goal is to be completely plastic free in our packaging.

-       We avoid the use of harmful chemicals in our products.

-       With coir products produced in Sri Lanka, due to the availability of raw material, we import our products via sea freight, by the container-load, reducing our carbon footprint.

-       We promote the use of coir as an alternative to the more harmful peat-based growing, through knowledge-sharing and partnerships, contributing towards UK Government’s efforts to end the use of peat in horticulture.
