HAILSHAM ROPE MANUFACTURER HELPS WITH PLASTIC PROBLEM
As part of Marlow Ropes’ BLUE OCEAN mission for sustainable manufacturing and reducing their impact on the environment, we are pleased to be supporting Warm Norm’s BHASS EXPLORE (@bhass_explore ) an environmental conservation organisation who are clearing coastal areas from litter and plastic debris in East Sussex.
Through funds raised via Marlow's Charitable Trust, the British made rope-makers are pleased to donate towards BHASS Explore’s vital resources helping to tackle the build-up of plastics along the East Sussex shoreline.
Marlow’s Managing Director Jon Mitchell comments: “With our 200+ year history in Hailsham, this local cause is close to our hearts at Marlow. The work that Norm and his team do has real significance to us at Marlow, with our own sustainable manufacturing objectives and mission to reduce waste. Supporting Norm’s work and lending a hand at his Extreme Plastic Removal events is a small act that can make a big difference.”
On attending BHASS EXPLORE’S recent Cuckmere Haven litter pick event he commented:
“I’d urge everyone to lend a hand, our help at the recent Cuckmere Haven event contributed to an overall effort in collecting well over 300 kilos of plastic debris and litter, and will now be collected, recycled and disposed of safely and responsibly.”
Marlow’s commitment to sustainability and reducing their environmental impact continues since the introduction in 2018 of rope products engineered using recycled waste plastic bottles.
Ahead of BHASS EXPLORE'S debris collection in July which will be carried out by the East Sussex Maritime Volunteer Service, Marlow were also pleased to donate upgraded ropes to help with their training and rescue operations.
