Freeport Consultation launched - opportunity to input
Today the Government has launched a ten-week consultation on the development of Freeports in the UK. The UK Government want these to be global trading hubs that will regenerate communities through creating high-skilled employment opportunities.
The Government is exploring a wide range of policy levers to make this Freeports a success, including tariff exemptions within the Freeport, customs facilitations, regulatory flexibilities and tax and planning measures. These are set out in the consultation document and we are inviting views of businesses, ports, local organisations, local government and experts to feed into the policy development process.
You can access the Consultation document via Gov.UK.
