Christmas Gift Card Appeal to spread some festive cheer to local homeless

Turning Tides are launching their Christmas Gift Card Appeal in the hopes the community can provide clients accessing their services a £5 gift card to spread some festive cheer.

“Every year, especially at Christmas, our community generously donates items and gifts for our clients for which we are most appreciative. This year we wanted to do something different, to provide our clients with the choice of what to buy for themselves. We hope individuals, businesses, schools and community groups can drop off £5 Gift Cards to us, so we can hand them out to our clients during the Christmas period.

A lot of people accessing our services have very few to no possessions, so a Gift Card would mean a great deal and show them the community cares.” said Gemma Orpwood, Communications Manager at Turning Tides.

Preparations are well underway to bring some festive cheer to those accessing Turning Tides’ support. Staff and volunteers will be putting up decorations across the projects, cooking and serving up Christmas meals - much as you would do at home.
