Benefits of joint working wins award

Wealden District Council has won a joint award with East Sussex County Council’s Housing Occupational Therapy team.

Wealden council and other councils within East Sussex were awarded for the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Home Adaptation Service of the Year as part of the joint working partnership.

The accolade reflects the important work the councils do to adapt properties for people with disabilities, older people, their families, or their carers.

The adaptations have allowed residents to live comfortably in their own homes.  The award shows the benefit of joint working to deliver a quality service and doing things differently that the sector could learn from.

Councillor Ray Cade, Wealden’s portfolio holder for Housing, said, “It is great to see another award being won for the extremely important work that our housing team do to make sure residents with disabilities are happy and able to live comfortably.

“The award shows the benefit of joint working to deliver a quality service.”
