Navigating secondary spikes and EU extrication

Our guest speaker will be Mark Berrisford Smith - Head of Economics, HSBC UK Commercial Banking

The economic recovery is well underway. But the process will not be straightforward, and will be hampered by ongoing social distancing, behavioural changes, structural upheavals in the retail, hospitality, and travel industries, and the final stage of the Brexit process.

How long might it take to get the economy back on to its pre-COVID track, and what changes might we see along the way? In the meantime, what will happen to all that debt that businesses have taken on, and can the government continue to rely on being able to raise money for next to nothing from the bond markets?

You will be able to ask questions live during the webinar, but it would be helpful to submit questions in advance by email to and we will brief Mark on the questions in advance.
