Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) announces the return of its free business expo event Open 4 Business on 14th March from 11.30-4.00pm at Harlands Road College site, Haywards Heath. This year the event will focus on ‘Skills and Apprenticeships’, reflecting one of the key themes of the Council’s Economic Development Strategy for 2018-2031. The event will combine an exhibition, networking opportunities and a speaker programme to engage and inform local businesses on starting, expanding and improving their apprenticeship and skills provision.
The event is open to all Sussex businesses from start-ups to corporates, who will have the chance to exhibit at the show and network with other companies and service providers. There will also be a programme of talks delivered by expert speakers, who will cover topics including:
There will also be an opportunity for businesses to sponsor elements of the event, including gold-level exhibition stands and sponsorship of the exclusive skills hub, a breakout space where attendees and exhibitors can network, hold meetings and even conduct interviews. The hub will also play host to a special panel discussion held by the Young Apprenticeships Ambassador Network (YAAN). The network brings together former and current apprentices to share their experiences and will be officially launching at the Open4Business event.
Councillor Jonathan Ash-Edwards, the Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economic Growth at Mid Sussex District Council, comments: “Mid Sussex is embarking on a hugely exciting journey of economic growth and development, which will ultimately attract more businesses, residents and workers to the District.
“Investing in skills and apprenticeships will be vital to ensuring that local businesses and local people are able to take advantage of the new opportunities created by that growth. This event will be an excellent opportunity for businesses to not only showcase their offer but also to learn about the crucial role that skills development and apprentices can play in strengthening their proposition.”
