AS A CHAMBER MEMBER YOU'RE WELL CONNECTED
The cut-off date to nominate teachers or other school staff for the Sussex Teacher of the Year Awards has been extended to noon on Friday, 20th April.
Ambassadors of the annual event have called for parents, pupils and schools to nominate worthy teachers and school staff for consideration.
Ana Christie, chief executive of the Sussex Chamber of Commerce, has lived in the Philippines and India, where she taught English for two years - and says she’s delighted to be involved in recognising and rewarding the people who lay the foundations for children’s success.
“At Sussex Chamber we are very passionate about making sure that there is a connection between schools and business,” she explained.
“The Sussex Teacher of the Year awards are an opportunity to recognise the teachers, the teaching assistants and all the staff in schools who play such an important part in educating the next generation of skilled workers.”
The awards are open to anyone who works in a school in East or West Sussex, whether as a member of staff or a volunteer. Around 50 winning individuals and schools will be honoured at a celebratory awards dinner staged at the Mecure Brighton in June.
Ambassadors for the awards include representatives from Sussex Chamber of Commerce, 3D Recruit, FE Sussex, Sussex Newspapers, KCS, Best Western and Mecure Brighton.
Submit one nomination or more at www.sussexteacheroftheyear.co.uk before April 20th.
