Peter Thompson B.A.(Hons.) Peter Thompson Sussex Chamber of Commerce Trainer

Peter has 20 years commercial experience up to director level in the logistics and financial aspects of international trade in the building services, civil engineering and energy sectors.

Peter became a freelance trainer offering export and import courses in 1998 and achieved J.E.T.S. accreditation in 2000. In 2003 he became Principal and Owner of Business Training and delivers the majority of their courses.

 

 

 


Stuart Box Stuart Box Sussex Chamber of Commerce Trainer

Stuart is a Member of the Learning and Performance Institute (formally the Institute of IT Training) and a Microsoft Certified Professional. He specialises in On-Line training and Presentation Skills, Microsoft Project and Power BI for Office 365, but he can train on most Microsoft applications and a number of esoteric subjects such as Ubuntu Linux and Python Programming.

Stuart has more than 30 years experience of working in the computer industry. He began working in Information Technology when computers were bigger than your living room but had less power than your mobile phone. He has progressed through all the jobs you can legally do in IT from Operator to Programmer, Systems Analyst, Manager and Technical Director. He managed a group of 50 programmers at the American computing giant Unisys but left to save his home county of Sussex from the ravages of the year 2000 bug.

He started his own computer training company in August 2000 to provide help for organisations to make the best use of IT in Business and he combines both practical Business and Technology skills.

A partial list of companies that Stuart has personally assisted with Consultancy or Training include Linklaters, Specsavers, BP, Tandberg, John Wyllie and Company, The Learning and Performance Institute, A J Walter Aviation, The NAAFI and Doughty Hanson.


Alison Box Alison Box Sussex Chamber of Commerce trainer

Alison is a Microsoft Certified Trainer and a Fellow of the Learning and Performance Institute (formally the Institute of IT Training) and holds the TAP accreditation in Training Delivery Skills. She has over 30 years experience of IT training, twenty of which have been in Microsoft Applications. She is an expert in delivery training to all skill levels, from basic users to executives and "high flyers".

After graduating from Birmingham University with a BA (Hons) in History, she started out in the infant computer industry as a technical author which required a high proficiency in word processing. Because she became an expert, she started to deliver training courses on the early Word Processors such as WordStar and AmiPro and then moved into training other mainstream desktop applications.

More recently, she has worked as a senior trainer for a large Training Company where she mentored and supported other trainers and was responsible for the delivery of the company’s Microsoft applications training courses.

She works closely with businesses as an applications and training consultant and currently she is one of the few IT trainers in the UK specialising in the Excel Power BI Tools and Power Pivot’s Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).


Mohan Rasanayagam Mohan Rasanayagam Sussex Chamber of Commerce trainer

Objective-led, commercially focused Human Resources Manager with over 17 years Generalist experience and full CIPD Accreditation, IOSH certification and liability insurance.

A Generalist HR Consultant for Sussex Chamber of Commerce for almost 5 years, having worked with clients within manufacturing, retail, publishing, security, technology, food production, charities, PR and marketing, and leisure and entertainment sectors, providing strategic input at Senior Management level, line manager development, and protecting companies from claims from employees.

Extensive knowledge of the entire HR function, having managed the growth of a B2B call centre from circa 20 staff to over 180 permanent and temporary employees, successfully managing significant organisational and cultural change, the introduction of all appropriate systems and processes, and benchmarking the organisation to external standards, in particular Investors in People and bespoke OCN qualifications.

A strategic planner and team builder with significant achievements in delivering lasting culture change, adding bottom line value, sustainable organisational development and quality and performance management systems in two quite different technology companies.

A persuasive negotiator, usually able to deliver 'win-win' or 'best case scenario' outcomes, where possible, an organised and efficient administrator, able to delegate work, share knowledge and empower colleagues.
