BHBiz Awards finalists announced

Finalists for the inaugural Burgess Hill Business Parks Association (BHBPA) awards ceremony have been announced today.

Three names have been selected for eight of the BHBiz Awards’ 10 categories, while two other awards for ‘Special Company’ and ‘Special Person’ have been judged by BHBPA Directors.

Gordon Reay, Business Liaison Officer for Mid Sussex District Council, Jacqui Landriani, Mayor of Burgess Hill, and Grant Ashley, former MD of ILG Group, independently judged each category over the past month.

The announcement comes as more than three hundred tickets have been sold for the inaugural event, which takes place at the Brighton Amex Stadium in Friday 5 May.

Paul Shearing, chairman of BHBPA, said: “There were so many worthy nominees to choose from that the judges had an unenviable task of shortlisting just three for each category. We’re really delighted with the finalists and the calibre of the nominees perfectly demonstrates the diversity of talent in our local business community.”

Steve Willis Training, PVL UK and Ridgeview Wine Estate have all been nominated for ‘Community Champion’, while Bennett Christmas Insurance Brokers, Vega Controls and Mike Oliver (Mike Oliver Associates) are competing to be crowned ‘Charity Champion’.

In the category of ‘Bright Star’, James Stringer (Bio Productions), Kath Ballard (Steve Willis Training) and Jack Doige (Shredded Neat) are finalists, while Invaluable Star contenders include Olga Cepukoit-Kulmatytska (Bio Productions), Deborah Preece (Hickstead Hotel) and Martin Coppard (Sutton Winson Insurance Brokers).

Names shortlisted for ‘Rising Star’ are Kellie Mason (Hickstead Hotel), Anna Skiba (Bruynzeel Storage Systems), and Michael Rowney (Lea Graham Associates), while Brian Lewis (The Print House Group), Mark Hadley (Shredded Neat) and James Brough (Bio Productions) made the top three for ‘Risen Star’.

Judges chose Leap Environmental, PVL UK and Bennett Christmas as ‘Winning Workplace’ nominees and in the category of ‘Eco Warrior’, Sussex Cleaning & Care, Shredded Neat and PVL UK.

Bio Productions lead the shortlist with three nominations.

The BHBiz Awards take place on Friday 5 May at the Brighton Amex Stadium. Tickets are available until Thursday 27 April, by contacting: esther.dawson@bhbpa.co.uk.
